Speech Judges Needed

Rotary District 5320 will be conducting their annual speech contest for high school students on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Villa Park City Hall, 17855 Santiago Blvd., Villa Park from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM (or later depending on number of contestants). We ask that all judges arrive by 4:00 PM. Light refreshments will be available. Currently, we are in need of six judges for the contest that is themed, “The Rotary 4-Way Test.” Speeches will be four-five minutes and a speaker shall be disqualified if he/she speaks for less than four minutes or more than five minutes thirty seconds. Judging forms will be sent to you after your confirmation of participation. For additional information on this opportunity, please contact Avis French, Founder’s District Judges Bureau Chair at 949-667-0682, or email community@foundersdistrict.org.

Of course, we are just beginning competition season and there are more opportunities coming right up with the Orange County Academic Decathlon. Judges are needed on two separate dates and locations. The first will be held on January 25, 2014 at Tustin High School, and the second on February 1, 2014 at Westminster High School. If you are interested in either opportunity, please visit the Volunteer Information webpage and notify Avis French if you participate, as she tracks Toastmaster community involvement.
