“A” TEAM ACHIEVEMENTS

The 2005–2006 “A” team hits the ground running as it races toward achieving a successful year. Our Area Governors took office and immediately took charge!

Kudos to the following Toastmasters for their accomplishments:

Area A-1 Governor Susie Gulick on her selection as the 2004–2005 Founders District Toastmaster of the Year. Susie also had 100% of her Area A-1 club officers trained, and she trained club officers in other Areas.
Area A-2 Governor Mel Creighton for having 100% of his Area A-2 club officers trained.
Area A-5 Governor Seth Sherwood, who personally trained 18 club officers in his Area.
Division A Toastmasters on their educational and leadership attainments: Sandi Printer (DTM), H.D. Boesch (LDREXC), Tom Gulick (LDREXC), Wendell Sawyer (ATM-G), Patti Porto (ATM-S), Dale Martin Brown (CTM), Pauline Luong (CTM), Evelina Nishizawa (CTM), Nelida Yanez (CTM), Lise Belke (CL), and Joseph Vranich (CL).

Carol Oshman, Area A-4 Governor, has several struggling clubs in her Area. She has started working with them, showing them how they can help their members achieve their goals.

Congratulations to Club 4274, Costa Mesa Communicators (Area A-3), on their 25th anniversary (chartered in June 1980). Costa Mesa Communicators has produced a number of great Toastmasters, including John Parpala, the current Area A-3 Governor and multiple–speech contests winner.

We welcome to the “A” team Club Med (Club 769208) in Area A-1 and Pulte Poets (Club 784357) in Area A-5. Look for great things from these fledgling organizations over the coming months.

Special thanks to Mary Berg, who coordinated our “A” Team Club Officer Training in July and helped make arrangements for the September DEC meeting. Her leadership skill adds a significant asset to the “A” team.

The “A” team faces the challenges of the future with focused enthusiasm. We are achievers, and we will achieve. As Lance Armstrong might say, “Watch our dust!”
