There is so much going on in the District in the way of membership building!
From your clubs having an open house, April dues, membership challenges, new
club growth and free gifts (one is the new Leadership manual) – there’s
something for everyone! Contact your Area Governor or visit the Founder’s
website at www.foundersdistrict.org for more information. Here’s a quick
peek at what you’ll find.
Have an Open House Meeting!
Remember the last time someone invited you to his or her home? Whether it was
for a big holiday party or a casual dinner, you felt special for being invited
and were excited about spending time with old friends and new and (of course)
having a little snack while you shared good conversation.
This year you’re encouraged to turn your club into a welcoming atmosphere in the form of an Open House to recruit new members. In fact, we think this can be so welcoming—and rewarding to your club—that we’d like to give you a “thank-you hostess gift!” Never put on an open house? On the website there’s a how-to section and who to contact with questions.
April Dues and You
In recognition of all those clubs that submit dues on time in April, we will
acknowledge them in the Founder’s District Conference program. The
first club in each Area will also be recognized, along with those clubs that
submitted their dues first in October. The October clubs list is on the Founder
website.
Membership Challenge
February 1 thru March 31 is Toastmasters’ ‘Talk up Toastmasters’ membership
campaign. Well, have we got a membership challenge for you during this period!
Sponsor two new members (don’t forget to fill out the bottom part of
the Membership Application) and the District will reward you with the new COMPETENT
LEADERSHIP MANUAL!! Not only will your club meet their DCP goals, you are helping
someone improve their communication skills, experience leadership development,
and increase their self-confidence.
We are growing!
Nine new clubs have joined the Founder’s District family since July 1
and three more are close to chartering. We also have 10 more groups very interested
in becoming part of the family. My thanks to all the people who either has,
or are participating in demos, sponsoring and mentoring the new clubs. We especially
need people that are working in their Competent Communicator Manual. For people
that are being introduced to Toastmasters, it’s good for them to see
and hear people working out of the same manual they will receive.
If are working on your Advanced Leader award, you can be a sponsor or mentor
of a new club. You can also be a club coach for those clubs that are low in
membership. Want to know more? Go to the ‘Volunteer Opportunities’ section
on our website at http://foundersdistrict.org/Members/Marketing. You can make
a difference in another person’s or a club’s life, while working
on your own goals towards your DTM or leadership and mentoring skills.
