Division B Continues to Build

By Arvee Robinson, DTM, Division Governor

Arvee RobinsonDivision B continues to focus on building new clubs and re-building clubs in trouble, with huge success.

We are three members away from chartering a club at the Business Technology Center in Altadena. This club has been meeting since November 1, 2004. The club will be in B-1 and mentored by Carmen Bomar, B-1 Area Governor. The sponsors are John Bates and Judy Turpen, B-2 Area Governor.

Another club in the works is the Foothill Employment Center in Pasadena. This club will be in B-7 and sponsored by the Area B-7 Governor, Tim Campbell. Sheila Scott, President of Club 1055 and Mary-Elizabeth Ohde President of Club 2754 have both stepped up to the challenge of mentoring this new club, which will charter very soon.

There are seven more new club leads in Division B that Hugh Scheffy, ATM-B/CL, is diligently working on to schedule demo meetings. We anticipate five new clubs in Division B before the end of the year however we are working toward seven—one for each area.

Also, we are happy to report that a couple of clubs in trouble are coming up for air. Club 9549, Rosemead Kiwanis, is meeting again after a few months of hiatus. Club 1962, Vons club is presently being coached by Ed Mihalka, DTM, and looks like they are adding new members.
