I
have enjoyed my year as district governor. There were two significant highlights
for Founder's District this year. In the fall, we were proud to celebrate the
80th anniversary of Toastmasters with International President Jon Greiner.
This spring, we saw a turning point in the district's history with the creation
of Division H.
We are now poised for continued growth and success, no doubt for another 80 years
or more.
This has gotten me thinking about legacies. I hope that my legacy as district governor will include having led us to Distinguished District status. I believe part of my legacy will reflect my theme for the year; that I have inspired others to do their best while having fun.
What will be your legacy as a Toastmaster? Have you met your goals for the year? Have you improved your life and the lives of the people around you?
I challenge all of you to continue to take the steps necessary to reach your educational and leadership goals. Strive to create your own legacy by helping others in the organization achieve their goals. I know that the 2005-2006 district leaders, Ken Sisco, DTM, Celly Adamo, DTM, and Alanda Dyer, DTM, will carry on the tradition of outstanding leadership in Founder's District, and will create their own legacies.
Thank you, Founder's District members, for making this a memorable year for
all of us. The district has many outstanding clubs and members that deserve
to be recognized. Together, we have indeed succeeded with a B.A.N.G.!
