The mission of the 5th Annual Fiesta Showcase was accomplished thanks to the steadfastness of the members of the fiesta committee, most notably: Richard Escamillo (Club 587), Maria Escutia (Area E1 Governor) and Barbara Barrientos (Div. A Marketing).

We had the following goals: To perpetuate the Fiesta Showcase as a public relations and marketing tool to provide an incentive for Hispanics and non-Hispanics to stay in Toastmasters; entice non-members to inquire about joining Toastmasters; and make the event self-sufficient economically. These missions were accomplished also thanks to the continuing support of Division A governor, Norm Stein and Division E governor, Richard Elliott. Furthermore, the event was embraced and guided by the Founder's District Public Relations Officer, Alanda Dyer, who collaborated with Bob Hudack to post it on the Founders web site and allowed us to advertise it at the Spring District conference.
The event was a fiscal success, thanks to opportunity drawing gifts donated by Debbie Gibbons (E2 Area Governor), Dyer, David Sanchez (Club 20 president), and food donated by local markets and restaurants.
Leading participants of the prepared speech showcase (Oratoria) were Froylan
Cabuto from SHPE club and Jose Morales from Cypress Communicators. Their subjects
were "What Cinco de Mayo Means to Me" and "The Power of Communication," respectively.
Leading participants of the Table Topics showcase (Tema) were Jose Morales and René Estrada.

What was most rewarding for the committee members was the support from Founder's District leadership and more attendees from other divisions (B and C), which shows that word of the Fiesta Showcase is getting around. This, coupled with the promotion on the Founder's District web site, will ensure continuing success in the coming years.
