The Mother's Day Tour:
A Community HPL Project

by Jean Andresen, DTM

The timing was perfect for my High Performance Leadership project as we started March 12, 2002, well before Mother’s Day. This was my first year of chairing the House Captains and Docents for the highly successful, long-running Monrovia Old House Preservation Group’s Mother’s Day Tour.

Using the principles of High Performance Leadership, our small committee met periodically. We all phoned previous member and non-member docents plus new members to solicit their help. A month before the Tour, we had our docents in order. We completed our duties in a timely manner and had another successful Mother’s Day Tour.

Since 2002, I have continued as the House Captain and Docent Chair. The process is organized and ready to hand off to another person, thanks to HPL!
