Marketing Report

by Lt. Governor Marketing
Alanda Dyer, DTM

We are growing! We’ve got new clubs, Smedley Award–winning clubs and Area Governors, sponsors and mentors for new clubs, new club coaches, and a fantastic achievement by one club that recruited 10 new members between August and September! On behalf of Founder’s District, I applaud the accomplishments of all these people.

The sponsors, mentors, and club coaches are not only using their leadership and communication skills, they are gaining project management and marketing experience, developing mentoring skills, and improving their coaching skills. In addition, they can get credit toward earning their Advanced Leader (AL) award. Do you want to know what opportunities are available to earn your AL? Contact me at adyer@foundersdistrict.org for more information.

The next membership building campaign sponsored by Toastmasters International will be in February and March with the theme “Talk Up Toastmasters.” The District will award Toastmasters’ gift certificates to the top three clubs who have the highest increase in new members (in the case of a tie among the top three, everyone will receive a gift certificate).

The District also held a contest to honor Area Governors who had two or more of their clubs earn the Smedley Award. They received two free advanced manuals of their choice, and their names were entered into a drawing to receive a free registration package to the Fall Conference on October 29.

It’s not too late to volunteer. We have many clubs that are below 12 members who want coaches, so this is a great opportunity for you to improve your coaching skills!

Taking our District Governor Ken Sisco’s motto to heart, we have begun these first four months with “Focused Enthusiasm,” sharing the benefits of Toastmasters with others. Let’s not forget that we can all make a difference in someone’s life as we build or rebuild another club!
