Letters of Intent are now being accepted for elective District Officer positions for the 2006-2007 term. Prospective candidates should e-mail their qualifications to the Nominating Committee Chair prior to February 8, 2006.
Membership on the District Executive Committee, which consists of elected and appointed District Officers, is a special honor and a privilege, a serious challenge, and an opportunity to serve the District and the community. The Executive Committee is a proving ground for future leadership, not only in Toastmasters but in countless ways for years to come—and how this world desperately needs the right kind of experienced leadership!
The following are elected positions:
Area Governors are appointed by the District Governor-elect in June.
In brief, a candidate should have served as an Area Governor to become a Division Governor and as a Division Governor to become either a Lt. Governor or District Governor.
Complete descriptions of the duties and eligibility requirements are available from the Nominating Committee Chair. Please do not accept nomination to the Executive Committee unless you know precisely what your duties will be if elected and are willing to perform those duties to the best of your ability. Especially, please do not volunteer just for the prestige you think it will give you. Do look at it as your duty to accept a nomination, if at all possible, if asked. Consider it an honor to have been selected, and regard it as a real challenge and a special opportunity to serve your organization.
Please direct your questions or send your letter to the Nominating Committee Chair, Norm Cook, DTM, IPDG, at NormCookTM@hotmail.com.
