Course Descriptions

You can stay for part of the day, or for the full program.

The workshops of President, V.P. Education, V.P. Membership and V.P. Public Relations run for an hour and fifty minutes with a short break. Please plan to be there for the full time in order to receive the full training. Secretary, Treasurer and Sgt. at Arms will be provided with 50 minutes of training from the Toastmasters International manuals, with time for questions & answers. Advanced Club Officer training: If you have attended officer training for the same office twice, this may be for you. Covers fundamentals and specific areas of challenge for each office. Getting Great Publicity
The Art of Working with the Press
Great publicity is the key element in building a business or a Toastmasters club. Lee Pound, a long- time newspaper editor, writing coach, and CFO, will reveal how to make editors your allies in the quest for publicity.

Judges Training
Every Contestant deserves a panel of well-trained judges and our district asks that judges attend training every two years. This session will train you to be an effective judge, or as a contestant - learn the criteria by which you'll be judged. Train now and gain the opportunity to judge Fall Speech Contests.

Nailing Your Presentation

Why wait until your speech evaluation to find out that you forgot something? Come learn about a speech presentation checklist to nail the presentation have-to’s and ensure audience involvement, all while cutting your preparation time in half. You will display extra confidence knowing that you have a well-prepared presentation.

Meet the Monkey
Why are some managers running out of time when their staffs are running out of work? It's the monkeys! Learn how to recognize the "monkey" or the "next move" and only take it when it belongs to you.

Mentor and Mentee
Come and learn how to catch the big fish and not let it get away. Discover from each other what we are looking for in the mentor and mentee. You will learn where to go to find the big fish in a pond, river or ocean. Join Barbara Barrientos and learn to give the Mentor and the Mentee the FISH.
