Carl Walsh Wins the 2009 Region II Speech Contest

Carl Walsh of Toastmasters Founder’s District won the 2009 Region II Speech Contest in San Mateo, California with an inspiring speech titled, “Second Chance”. Carl will now be competing for the World Champion of Public Speaking at the Toastmasters International Convention on August 15, 2009 in Mashantucket, Connecticut. After winning, he publicly thanked Frank Adamo and Richard Elliot for their assistance and mentoring.

Toastmasters Founder’s District is the birthplace of Toastmasters International, a world leader in helping people become more competent and comfortable speaking in front of an audience. Founder’s District is home to nearly 200 clubs located in Southern California from Pasadena to San Clemente. Representing the membership in this area are eight divisions A through H. The mission of the District is to enhance the performance and extend the network of the Clubs, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program by: Focusing on the critical success factors as specified by the District educational and membership goals, insuring that each Club effectively fulfills its responsibilities to its members, and providing effective training and leadership development opportunities for Club and District officers.
