About the Founder's District Journal

Founder’s District began operations on July 1, 1944. Prior to that, it was the Eastern Division of District 1 in Southern California. At an Eastern Division Council meeting, February 18, 1944, Graham J. Albright, then Governor of the Eastern Division, appointed a committee to study the advisability of dividing District 1.  
Governor Albright is credited with suggesting the name “Founder’s” for the new district. The title is said to have come to him in a [...]

Founder’s District Mourns the Loss of Gigi

Founder’s District is deeply saddened to share with all of you the loss of Georgina “Gigi” Wantz, beloved mother of three, wife of current Founder’s District Area C-3 Governor Bill Wantz, and member of Success for Speakers Toastmasters Club 2330 in District 12.  Gigi passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 31st, after recent medical complications.
