Contest Management Guidelines

Contest Management = Project Management

Planning + Delegation + Supervision = Successful Event

A Successful Event has:

  1. Plan
    • List of functions/tasks with deadlines
    • Budget
    • Contest Script
  2. Delegation
    • Find volunteers, define exactly what you expect, get commitment
    • Option: 2-step delegation: Delegate task to a Club Officer, who then delegates to Club Members  
  3.       (NOTE:   Work directly with the club member to ensure fulfillment.)

  4. Supervision
    • Define milestones with deadlines if there are bigger tasks
    • Contact every one at least once a week
    • Run a Briefing Meeting a few days before the contest

Troubleshooting:

Be prepared to work on “Plan B”
